Plasma-catalytic dry reforming of methane over Ni-supported catalysts in a rotating gliding arc – Spouted bed reactor

A combination of a rotating gliding arc and spouted catalytic bed was investigated in plasma-catalytic system for dry reforming methane (DRM). Different nickel-based catalysts, including Ni supported on Al2O3 or SiO2 (fresh passivated) with 0, 15, 30 wt % Ni, were investigated. It found that more stable operation the obtained Al2O3-supported catalyst rather than catalyst. noticeable increase selectivity towards CO H2 plasma zone, reducing acetylene production, byproduct DRM, when carried out under conditions. maximum 96.7 passivated 30Ni/SiO2. For H2, achieved 84.9 + fresh 15NiO/SiO2. Additionally, formation soot coke reactor strongly reduced by presence The characterization showed introduces defects catalyst, making it electronegative.
